July 30, 2020: Tomb of the Unknown Concentration Camp Prisoner, Copenhagen

Located on the south grounds of Copenhagen's Church of the Holy Ghost is an unusual memorial.  It's a marker embedded in the walkway, and adjoining monument for "The Tomb of the Unknown Concentration Camp Prisoner".

It was unveiled in May 1950 on the anniversary of the ceasefire in Europe,  Three years later an urn was added to the monument containing the ashes of two concentration camp prisoners, one each from Neuengamme and Auschwitz.  There is a short Danish poem inscribed at the top of the monument.

Came across this unexpectedly but I believe it important that we don't forget our history or repeat the mistakes of the past, so I thought I would share it with you.
