Feds extend mask mandate for travel

 

With Covid still widespread and a new variant likely to spread, the Federal government is extending the requirement for masks on planes, trains, buses and in stations and airports through March 18.

The ban, which has been extended twice before; until this extension it had been scheduled to expire January 18. The extension was announced Thursday by Pres. Biden.

In addition to the mask extension, the U.S. is implementing new rules for arriving travelers from overseas, including requiring a negative test within one day of travel for all, whether vaccinated or not.
