Delta getting even more A220s

Delta, the world's largest customer for Airbus's A220, is adding another dozen to its order, bringing the eventual total to 119 of the popular mid-size plane. The new order is for the larger A220-300 model.

Delta's fleet also includes 45 of the A220-100 model, for which it was the U.S. launch customer after a 2017 dispute in which Boeing tried to block the sale, claiming that the planes, then a product of Canada's Bombardier, were getting illegal subsidies and should b subject to huge tariff costs. Shortly after, Airbus acquired the line and agreed to manufacture in the U.S. as well as Canada.

In addition to Delta, Breeze Airways and JetBlue are major U.S. buyers, along with many smaller European airlines.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
