Carnival's WiFi gets faster, sort-of-cheaper

Carnival Cruise Line, which has recently tried out faster internet with lower package prices on three of its ships—and gotten good marks for it from passengers—is adding it to nine more ships, and plans to include the majority of its fleet by October.

But before you stand up and scream, keep in mind that cheaper is not necessarily cheap! The packages start with $5 a day (capped at $25 per cruise) for access to social media, but not the rest of the internet; $16 a day for the whole internet, but without streaming and $25 a day for the whole deal. Presumably there are caps on the higher-priced packages as well, but that was not announced.  As with the real estate business, the three big factors appear to be location, location and location!

There was also no announcement of the new speed, but CruiseCritic members posting on the site seemed happy with it, although some complained that it slowed during the day.
