Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh (Where Gumbo was #209)

Gumbo was at the Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Congratulations to Theo R (via Twitter), PortMoresby and Jonathan L, who solved this week's travel puzzle.

I grew up in Pittsburgh until I was drafted and sent overseas in 1971. My daughter, who is approaching 47 years old, had taken an interest my family history, where I grew up, worked, went to school, etc. I took her to Pittsburgh for a week and we had an enjoyable time visiting old relatives who filled us in with interesting stories.

The Carnegie Science Center has many science shows and active participation exhibits for kids. My daughter liked the robots and the space exploration displays.

We didn’t get a chance to tour the SS Requin which was converted into a submarine museum.
