Canada: Vax required for air or rail

While Canada is now easier for U.S. and other travelers to visit, the rules for travel within the country are about to get stricter: As of October 30, full vaccination will be required for air or long-distance rail travel.

The rule, announced last week, has only a few limited medical exemptions and some slack for people who live in isolated fly-in communities. Prime Minister Trudeau indicated that the first month, through November 30, would still allow people with proof of recent negative testing to complete planned travel.

The Canadian rule is similar to those enforced in several European countries, including France. Proposals to require vaccination for domestic air travel in the U.S. have run into fears of political backlash, as well as resistance from airlines that don't want to be in the front line of enforcement, even if they have mandated vaccination for their employees.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
