Birds of the Okavango Delta

 

While everyone enjoys the beautiful large animals of Africa, there's a plethora of bird life that's easy to overlook when studying the splendid lions and kudu and giraffe.  The oasis of the Okavango Delta is a natural magnet for all types of birds, ranging from kingfishers to large wading birds.

In this post I'm highlighting some of my favorite bird photos from our trip to Botswana.  Minimal narration -- just beautiful birds to enjoy.  If you want to know their names and a little more about them, click on the slide show below which has legends and some brief commentary:
