Reply to "Minneapolis in the winter"

Hi Theodore!  I am a Mall of America fan.  You can easily spend an entire weekend (or many evenings) at the Mall of America.  First of all, the mall is very easy to get to by train from downtown (CICAK did a wonderful job explaining that), and fares are quite cheap (fares go for about $1.75 to $2.25 one way depending on what time of day you ride).  As CICAK also mentioned, there is something for everybody at the mall.  If you just want to find a warm dry place to walk and people watch, I believe a stroll around an entire floor of the mall is approximately one mile, and there are three floors to cover if you are so inclined.  You'll love the wide variety of restaurants to choose from.  Activities include (to just name a few) a mini-golf course, a mirror maze, Nickleodeon Universe, a large amusement park which occupies the entire open centre area of the Mall of America and offers a range of very cool rides (this is a favorite of mine), a large movie theatre complex, and Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium where you will see sharks, manta rays, jellyfish, octopi, etc...I was amazed at how good this aquarium was.  I hope this information helps you.  Have a great trip to Minneapolis, and stay warm.
