Almost as if they were security guards, two heads stare out from the entrance of the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art.
Or rather, one stares, because the other has no face, no eyes.

They are the work of Japanese-American artist Jun Kaneko and are titled Primary Vision. Kaneko is known for combining Japanese aesthetics with monumental American scale. I’m not entirely sure I understand that!
They were created in 2011 and are part of the Museum’s permanent collection
