Pink Ladies in Texas

While visiting Weatherford, Texas, I noticed large numbers of flowers growing along the roadside.  I was not familiar with these blossoms, although I’m sure to residents of Texas and surrounding states they’re pretty common.

These flowers are Showy Evening Primrose (a.k.a. Mexican Primrose), more commonly known as Pink Ladies.  They are perennial wildflowers ranging from white to pink, with a yellow center.  They grow well in the prairies and along roadsides.

Sure beat dandelions!
