While scrolling through my archives, I came across these photos of a Scottish coastal town. It’s Oban, which we visited only briefly. The town is known for its seafood, which I say from our experience is delicious.
Oban is on Scotland’s west coast, sitting on a beautiful horseshoe-shaped bay. Oban is known as the “Gateway to the Isles” because it is a hub for ferries to the Hebridean islands like Mull. It’s a popular vacation destination during the summer months.
The city is well known for its distillery (establish 1794) and McCaig’s Tower. a colosseum-like landmark overlooking Oban Bay. You can see McCaig’s Tower at the top of the hill in these photos.
A peaceful and beautiful coastal town with amazing sea views and a relaxing atmosphere.
