The past is getting a lot more recent, it seems, with the arrival of a new historic home at The Henry Ford, a living history museum in Dearborn, Michigan that features Greenfield Village.
The home, a bit over 100 years old, was owned by Dr Sullivan Jackson in Selma, Alabama, where Dr. Jackson and his family were involved in the Civil Rights movement; the home was a gathering place for leaders and community members during that period.
Its addition to Greenfield Village “expands the institution’s ability to explore the American story through place-based experiences and lived history,” according to the museum’s announcement. It’s the first new addition to the village in four decades.
