When I arrived at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky, my traveling companion later told me he really didn’t want to look at quilts. But once inside, it took him about three minutes to tell me he was so glad he came—it’s very impressive.
The Museum honors today’s quilters and inspires future quilters with exceptional exhibitions, education, and programming, the website explains. “Our vision is to be America’s premier quilt museum, celebrating innovative and extraordinary quilts from the United States and around the world.”
No kidding.
The museum is one reason Paducah was named a UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art in 2013.
The quilts are no less than spectacular. The vision, design, and craftsmanship can whisk you away from everyday thoughts and into the world of creation.
