Mac the Moose, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Mac the Moose 1

Last month my husband Gene and I spent a week in Canada driving through the Provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. While we were in Saskatchewan we spent a couple of nights in Moose Jaw. We had a wonderful time exploring the area and I will share more from our visit on a future post. However, I have to share a few pictures I took of Mac the Moose.

He is made of steel and concrete, is 10.36 meters tall, and weights approximately 10 tons. He is located near the Visitor’s Center on the corner of E Thatcher Drive and the Trans-Canada Highway. Mac the Moose was built in 1984 by Saskatoon artist Don Foulds with the goal of attracting visitors to the city. It seems to have worked, lol.
