Lisbon’s ferry links across the Tagus River and along its waterfront are set for a big expansion, with the addition of a third terminal on the Lisbon side.
The new terminal will open next year at Parque das Nações in the eastern part of the city, the area originally developed as part of Expo ’98. During that fair, ferry service was a key part of the transportation mix, and it is now being revived.
The Lisbon-side existing terminals area Cais do Sodré and Terreiro do Paço. There is also a service that connects those two to Belem in western Lisbon.
