Limerick: a bus to the bike path

Bikers and hikers on Limerick’s 40km Greenway can now conveniently start or stop partway along the trail through rolling Irish countryside, with a bus that runs parallel to the path

The bus, run by a company that also rents bikes for use on the Greenway, makes an hourly loop from one end to the other, stopping at towns and hotels along the way; the fare is €10 for a full trip and €5 for half, with discounts for kids. It’s modeled after similar service on the Waterford and Great Western Greenways.

Daily service started in July and runs through August; after that it will continue on weekends.

The Limerick Greenway, which opened in 2021, has already attracted over a half million visitors.
