Ville Vie, the company behind the Odyssey residences-at-sea ship that got worldwide attention by having its maiden voyage held up in port for four months last year is now planning a second ship.
The second ship is being pitched as ” a new tier of refined, residential ocean living while complementing Villa Vie’s existing contemporary offering aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey.” The company promises an announcement about the new ship within weeks. It is likely that, like Odyssey, it will be refurbished from a ship previously operated by another line.
The company’s concept involves keeping its ship(s) on permanent cruise around the world, with cabins sold on a permanent basis to passengers who live aboard. As the now-15 month cruise of Odyssey continues, the company has also offered term-limited sales and multi-month season passes.
In other news from the floating apartment house, a couple who met during the four-month delay in Belfast were married aboard the ship last week in a ceremony performed by the ship’s captain. The vessel is currently in Fiji.
