I came across this sculpture just inside the ramparts and one of the main gates of Taroudant — known by many as “Little Marrakech”.
Mint tea is a traditional and popular beverage in Morocco. Green tea is prepared in a teapot, and fresh mint leaves are then added (to the pot or your cup). It is considered an art form to pour the tea from the tallest height possible, so the server stands and lifts to pot to about face level when pouring. The higher, the more prestigious the pour. The idea is to get bubbles in your cup or glass, and of course not to miss the target.
I assume that this is what this sculpture represents. Although I couldn’t find out much about it.
