Japan’s Noto Satoyama regional airport is re-inventing itself with a games-based theme to aid a charity helping area children affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake.
The airport will re-open on July 7, renamed to Noto Satoyama Pokemon With You Airport, and with Pokemon characters, including a giant Pikachu balloon, decorating its walls and halls. The airport’s grounds will be decorated with all 111 “flying-type” Pokemon characters for visitors to spot.
The project is taking place in collaboration with Pokémon With You Foundation, which supports children affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake that left hundreds dead or missing.
