Austin, Minnesota, is known for the Hormel family and their diversified businesses, including the world-famous Spam.

A beautiful and free attraction in the city is the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center.

I started my exploration at the Interpretive Center, located at the heart of the park. Here, I found interesting photos, displays, and exhibits explaining the features of the over 500 acres of prairie, forests, and wetlands.

From here, I took one of the trails, finding lovely flowers and many families enjoying the day in nature. There are many kinds of wildlife along the nine miles of trails.
