Recently we published a post about Coyote Flats Pioneer Village, in rural Alberta. That post mostly focused on the many historic buildings in the Pioneer Village.
Today’s post contains a glimpse at the extensive collection of antique farming equipment you’ll find at Coyote Flats. When I was a youngster most of my friends were farm kids, so I spent some time on farms, but I am far from an expert on farming equipment. Still, I thought even amateurs can enjoy the evolution in the equipment that you see in displays like this:
What follows is a gallery of some of the farming equipment from Coyote Flats:
- Horse Drawn and early Farming Implements:

2. Tractors; From steam to diesel-powered, you’ll see a century of tractor development on display. I’m amazed at how the gigantic tractors of years gone by have evolved into smaller, much lighter and more efficient machines:

1929 Waterloo Boy tractor:

1928 Twin City Tractor:

3. Combines (cut grain and separate the seeds from the chafe)

There are also a few cars and trucks on display, like these antiques:

If you like old stuff, then you’ll love exploring this antique farm equipment! Nicely done, Coyote Flats!!
