Harley ‘Hogs’ headed for Portugal

It ain’t Sturgis—the iconic American motorcycle invasion of South Dakota—but it will be a big event for fans of American motorcycles this weekend when hundreds of Harley-Davidsons and their fans will gather this weekend at Monte Gordo Beach in Portugal’s sun-and-sand Algarve region.

The National Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Meeting has been organized by HD Algarve/American Motorcycles, with the Vila Real de Santo António City Council. It’s the first time in years at the location, and is expected to draw “more than 350 motorcyclists.”

The local council told press that “For two days, Monte Gordo will be the stage for moments of conviviality and motorcycling spirit, attracting not only national participants but also international visitors. The 2025 edition marks the return of the event to the Algarve, after the events in Albufeira and Vilamoura in 2018”

Planned events include test rides, group tours, concerts, slow-moving races and a large parade between Monte Gordo and the city of Vila Real de Santo António.
