Gray Wolves, Skansen, Stockholm

Skansen is an interesting open-air museum featuring historic buildings from different regions of Sweden.  It also has displays of native animals.

The wolf enclosure was large and filled with native plants, and allowed opportunities for really excellent views of these animals (and a chance to take decent photos).  They certainly are beautiful animals.  It was the closest encounter I’ve ever had with wolves, with the exception of this one in Alaska.

This particular wolf  (photo below) “stalked” me as I walked around the periphery of the enclosure — I was very safe as the viewing area is elevated.
