One of the pleasures of strolling the streets of a city—and especially one of my favorites, Paris—is the variety of small things that catch the eye. Not the Eiffel Tower, but a pair of unusual storefronts. Not, sometimes, the elegant formality of a classic building, but the near-cacaphony (if that word can be applied to visuals) of a large souvenir shop.
Hints of delicious fare available in profusion too great to take in at one sitting…
A reminder of simpler things—bread baked in a wood-fired oven…
Hints of deliciously malicious intents…
A window display at a kitchenware store…
And a reminder that all is not always well…
And, for this post, we have reached, as this poster says…THE END.
