Fiji joins OneWorld, AAdvantage

Fiji Airways has taken the planned step of joining the OneWorld Alliance, and has also folded its Tabua Club loyalty program into the AAdvantage program run by American Airlines.

In OneWorld, Fiji joins 14 other airlines, including American, British, Iberia, Japan Airlines and Qantas. Fiji’s network includes flights from its base at Nadi to four U.S. cities: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Honolulu.

In addition to the usual alliance-based connections and route possibilities, American Airlines loyalty members will be able to use their AAdvantage miles to pay for award flights on Fiji and elites of the two airlines will enjoy reciprocal privileges.
