After spending a number of winter days driving around the Alberta prairies, I finally managed to finally track down a female snowy owl near Mossleigh. She was sitting atop a telephone pole.

For me, the most startling image is the owl in flight. I’ve only ever seen owls perched and looking like, well, our image of owls. In flight, what a difference!
