Feb. 17, 2018: Sculpture on Paris Bridges

Paris has a lot of bridges, many of them quite unique in appearance—although there are a few I always confuse with each other. Many of them have quite elaborate decorations, such as the one above on the Pont Alexandre III, but I suspect that most of us take only a general glance at the bridges, and not at the decorative touches.

Here are a few I spotted while walking along the Left Bank, from the Pont d’Iena (above) near the Eiffel Tower. Then, below, a fierce figure on the Pont des Invalides.

And then, finally, the most elaborate of the bridges, Pont Alexandre III again, with lizards and toads playing on an elaborate urn.
