You probably do not see many signs like this in your neighbourhood. It is a warning to look out for cape buffaloes, who can be very aggressive, especially when they feel threatened, and they are easily provoked. As it happened, we did not see a single one during our drive through the park.
However, we encountered a variety of other animals (see also my previous post on the meerkats). The wildebeest clearly viewed us with suspicion and kept their distance, as did the springbok.

The ostriches, on the other hand, hardly paid us any attention. There were quite a few of them.

Secretary birds are not a very common sight and we were thrilled to find this one.

The game reserve is in a relatively flat part of the park. There is a second, more mountainous section, which is centred on the so-called Valley of Desolation.

This area offers spectacular views of the surrounding countryside as well as the nearby city of Graaff-Reinet.

Unfortunately, it was rather overcast on the day of our visit. However, that also meant that there was virtually nobody else around.
