Eurostar’s 2025 figures, announced last week, show a continuing growth, especially in its London-to-Amsterdam corridor, where more passengers are turning from wings to rail.
Eurostar’s core business is the Channel Tunnel connection between London and the European trifecta of Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, but it is also growing on intra-Europe routes, especially in the Amsterdam-Brussels-Paris corridor that was originally served by Thalys, now absorbed by Eurostar.
Overall, Eurostar carried over 20 million passengers last year, with over 4 million on the London-Amsterdam route, which grew by 18%, spurred in part by station renovation in Amsterdam that allow more trains per day.
Eurostar has recently ordered 50 new trainsets for replacement and expansion as it explores new routes that will connect London to further European destinations including possibly Frankfurt and Geneva. An Amsterdam to Geneva route is in the plans.
