Usually, announcement from European Sleeper involve new routes or future plans, but this time they’re not selling tickets, they’re selling shares in the company.
The Dutch-Belgian company which began operations in 2023 and will soon resume operation of Paris-Berlin night trains as well as a new route connecting Milan with Brussels and Amsterdam, is looking for €2.3 million to help fund its expansion. It’s asking “anyone who believes in affordable, comfortable, low-impact travel” to become a co-owner.
That’s not a huge sum, and the company isn’t looking for huge investors; its promo video says it’s “inviting the public to invest in the next phase of its European network”, with investments starting from €140. Anyone investing €2000 or more will get a 20% discount on tickets.
European Sleeper recently acquired GreenCityTrip, a sustainable travel operator specialising in train and holiday packages, and some of the new funds will go toward creation of accessible holiday packages.
