The luxury arms race of Gulf airlines continues, with Emirates preparing to equip some first-class suites with their own private lavatories.
That’s a one-up to all the other private suites in the air, and especially to Etihad’s multi-room ‘The Apartment,’ but it’s probably not the last shot in the competition.
Airline chief Tim Clark dropped the news at an airline leadership summit, saying “I want everyone to hear that so everyone rushes out the door to find out how they can get bathrooms in first-class suites.”
Other front-of-the-plane amenities on Emirates and other gulf carriers include lounge bars, fine dining, and a shower spa and what Clark called “soft leather seating reminiscent of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class.”
