Norway has seen yet another elk invasion on city streets, this time in the Majorstuen neighborhood of Oslo, where the animal, apparently disoriented, galloped through the streets, weaving around cars an pedestrians. It was eventually shot and killed by wildlife authorities.
It was the second time in two days in Scandinavia; a young elk was put down after straying into the streets of Stockholm.
Elk are common across Scandinavia, although rare in urban incidents. Officials suggest safety tips in case of encounters consist mainly of control your curiosity and move away, slowly and steadily, and never approach, especially if a mother and calf are involved.
