One of Milwaukee’s most popular attractions is the Milwaukee Public Market. The Market is located in the Historic Third Ward, a gentrified and popular area known for its artistic scene. restaurants and boutiques. The Market has become a focal point of the area and is a place where locals shop and eat, and where tourists come to sample the goods. Most of the shops and restaurants are on the ground floor, but the market spills over to the second floor. It focuses on locally sourced products.

The Milwaukee Public Market was established in 2005 and was inspired by Seattle’s Pike Place Market. This market covers some 30,000 square feet and features a wide array of vendors selling quality food products, artisan goods, and handcrafted items. The market is designed to showcase the best that Milwaukee has to offer.

There are about a dozen and a half vendors in the market, which include:
Baked goods (bread, pastries — everything we sampled was delicious)….

Exotic spices….

Delicious candies and chocolates….

Wine….

Fresh appetizing produce….

Assorted restaurants,…

The most popular spot in the market, at least as judged by our experience, was a seafood restaurant, the St. Paul Fish Company. It was founded by Tim Collins in 2005, and was where we had dinner two of the three nights we were in Milwaukee….

Throughout the year, the Milwaukee Public Market hosts various cooking classes, tastings, and special events that aim to educate and entertain visitors.
