easyJet’s founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou has launched pilot cut-rate grocery store in North West London with 76 food items all priced at 25p for this month. Next month the site announced most items will be 50p .Their plan is expand and sit between food banks and discount retailers.
Sir Stelios stated:
“Given my experience in distributing food for free in Greece and Cyprus, this is a more commercial attempt to sell basic food for 25p per item to those less well-off in the Park Royal area”.

I really do like this idea because a lot of people are too proud to go to food banks if they are in need and at least they can get a few things there. Also , if it spreads its a good way for travelers to pick up a few snacks for the road.
Here are the items for sale listed on the site :
Stelios is a clever man. Lots of free advertising for a new cut price food store.
Many basic items such as sugar – tea – canned drinks – bottled water – beer – vegetables and milk can be found below 25 pence / 35 cents in lo-cost stores in the UK already.
And next month when it all goes to 50 pence he’ll once again be on a winner !
