MSC, one of the larger cruise lines, is building a production studio in Edinburgh to churn out musical and other productions for its MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys brands.
“Having a dedicated home for our entertainment development and training is essential as we continue to expand the scale and ambition of our productions,” according to Steve Leatham, MSC’s entertainment head. “This state-of-the-art facility will help ensure our shows are launch-ready and consistently delivered at the highest quality, reinforcing the Cruise Division’s long-term commitment to innovation in onboard entertainment.
The facility will provide spaces for aerial rehearsal, dance and vocals, a technical recording studio, offices, and storage for props and costumes. It’s expected to be ready by July, and to be available to prepare late-2026 shows
