WWII forts at sea could become luxury hotel

A series of seven forts built at sea to fend off a Nazi invasion have been proposed as a setting for a luxury hotel by a design firm trying to lure investment and a developer. The recent terror attacks in Paris apparently haven't put off its lure for visitors; Airbnb reports it's the top New Year holiday booking in Europe, and second only to New York world-wide. Norwegian gives Oakland its first-ever London non-stop

Oakland International will be the base for Norwegian's new California-to-London service—a big step for the expanding carrier and for the airport that's locked in competition with nearby San Francisco and San Jose.
