We had spent a half day walking around historic Vienna and were ready for a break. We were not far from Hotel Sacher, but Sacher torte is not to our liking (much too dry). Demel wasn’t that far away, but we passed a small cafe with a few tables that looked very inviting, so this is where we decided to stop.
The pastries were lovely. Take a look at a few of the items in their selection:

My wife selected a pistachio croissant, and I went with a chocolate/cherry/whipped cream concoction. Both were excellent.

My wife had a cafe latte….

….and I had cappuccino. Both were great!

There are probably dozens of small bakery cafes like this around the city. But this one hit the spot that day (unfortunately I never recorded the name of the establishment).
