As if cruising the Galapagos Islands aboard a yacht like cruise ship weren’t exotic enough, Celebrity Cruises is offering a bit extra: Glamping on the top deck of its newly-launched Galapagos cruiser, Celebrity Flora.
The ship, which will debut next spring, will be based in Baltra. The ‘camping’ experience will be sold by the night as part of 10- and 11-night itineraries. The top deck includes two open-air cabanas, one set up for sleeping and the other for dining.
The one-night experience, which is a paid add-on to the regular accommodations, can take up to four passengers a night. A naturalist will spend part of the evening with them, helping them see stars and other sights. The charge also includes dinner, open bar with ‘curated cocktails’ and bedside breakfast.
