On a trip to Winnipeg earlier this year, my husband and I spent some time exploring the area and visiting a few museums. One of the most interesting designs was the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. The purpose of the museum is to enhance the public’s understanding of human rights, to promote respect for others and to encourage reflection and dialogue.
Opening on April 17, 2004, the museum is apparently the world’s first national museum dedicated to human rights. We didn’t have time to tour this museum (hopefully next time), but it was definitely an interesting piece of architecture. Make sure to check it out if you are in the area.
