At €250 a couple, it may be either Brussels’ most expensive tram ticket or a not-off-the-table price for a gourmet meal prepared by one of the city’s top chefs—on a tram traveling around the city.
The ‘Tram Experience’ is a collaboration between the Belgian capital’s tourism agency, visit.brussels, and its transport operator STIB/MIVB. Roughly from September through June, it’s a six-day-a-week rolling restaurant that does a two-hour round-trip leaving from Place Poelart. On Friday and Saturday, the ride lasts 45 minutes longer, and the meal goes to 7 courses instead of 6.
Meals are prepared by a rota of top chefs; the first up this year is Kevin Lejeune, head chef of a newly opened restaurant in a luxury hotel, whose meals will be served until October 12. The 6-course menu goes for €250 for two or €460 for four; the 7-course meal is €300 or €560.
