Brussels’ Horta Museum up for renovation

The Horta Museum in Brussels, is getting a €800,000 renovation that will open more areas of the building to visitors and remediate ongoing structural issues.

Dedicated to the career and work of Victor Horta, one of the fathers of Art Nouveau, the museum occupies the home and studio he built for himself.

Aside from some structural repairs, the money will create a new visitor entrance in a more recent extension to the building, allowing more of the original building to be part of a visitor experience. That phase of the work will be completed by this November.

A second phase, which will be completed in 2029 will open the mansion’s garden to visitors, and renovate part of the workshop where Horta and his assistants worked.
