Brussels gets its first yarn festival

Brussels has a new attraction for knitters, embroiderers and crochet fans — its first ever yarn festival, planned to become an annual event.

The two day event on February 15 and 16 will not only show off a wide variety of yarns, fabrics and patterns but will also offer workshops in knitting, weaving, dyeing and mending, as well as fashion shows of knit and crochet goods. The festival will also address the ecological impact of the textile world and will focus on upcycling and eco-friendly practices.

A total of 40 vendors and exhibitors are expected, including wool producers and dyers, fabric designers, sewing and knitting pattern creators, and haberdashers.
