Where in the World is TravelGumbo? #83

Gumbo's left the wild's of the Pacific Northwest and is off on another journey. This one takes him to this building which, as you can see, has an elegant floor, although that's not what it's most known for. The place seems massive, as evidenced by the sturdy weight bearing pillars.

This has to be a mediaeval cathedral in Europe. The visitors are too warmly dressed for Southern Europe, so I think it must be England, Germany, France or the Low Countries.

Reminds me of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. Maybe it is? I busy looking up in awe at the ceiling work and pillars and not down at the floor.

Is it really a religious building? An important government building is another possibility, and those could be legislators conferring in the hall...

It definitely looks like a sarcophagus on the left and religious icons in the background, so I would go with a church.
