Want to binge on Star Wars? Fly Emirates

There's no denying the enduring popularity of the Star Wars franchise, and with all the buzz surrounding the upcoming release of Episode VII, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, some companies are wisely playing along with the tidal wave of excitement.  The new movie premiers Dec. 18, 2015.

Starting January 2016, for the first time, the prior six episodes of the Star Wars franchise will be available on Emirates’ inflight entertainment system.  These are, of course:  Star Wars: A New Hope (1977); Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980); Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983); Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999); Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005).

The films have a running time of over 13 hours, so it is conceivable that someone on a long haul flight could see all six films.  For many these would be repeat performances, but for a new generation some might be completely new experiences.

And in case you can't wait a few more days, here's the YouTube clip of the movie trailers:
