Venice Carnival kicks off with "Flight of the Angel"

Thousands of people in masks and costumes came out to St. Marks Square on Sunday to see the traditional opening of the Carnival of Venice. This years "flight of the angel" had Irene Rizzi leap from the bell tower, attached to a wire.

The Carnival of Venice lasts until February 9.
