TSA shuffling screeners to speed lines

TSA has a plan to help reduce long lines at popular airports over the summer travel season by moving screeners from less-busy airports on temporary assignments.

TSA has 47,500 screeners spread across U.S. airports and a few out-of-country pre-clearance sites and says that over a thousand of them have volunteered for mobile assignment when needed. The goal is to keep regular security lines to under 30 minutes and PreCheck lines to ten minutes or less.

Numbers for April and May show 2.1 million passengers screened per day, about 90% of the 2019 figures. Summer travel is expected to push up into the 2019 levels of about 2.5 million passengers a day.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
