Top winners named in Nat Geo photo contest

National Geographic has named the top winners in its annual photography contest, and the results are stunning.

Above, the Grand Prize winner, by Sergio Tapiro Velasco. The image is of an eruption of Mexico's Colima volcano in December, 2015.

The winning photographs in multiple categories, along with captions and descriptions by the photographers can be seen HERE on National Geographic's website, which also contains information on entering next year's contest.

There are some fabulous photos on the National Geographic website. I found clicking on 'Galleries' the best option. Warning: The shots might make you go green with envy!
