Thousands sign up for 'mock' voyages

The simulated cruises that the Centers for Disease Control has set as one of the requirments for the return of the ocean cruise industry may prove to be one of the most popular travel options of the coming months.

Royal Caribbean, whose ships mostly bear 'of the Seas' names has created a 'Volunteer of the Seas' sign-up form for those who'd like to help test out the new health and safety protocols that will be in place when 'real' cruising resumes. There's no timeline so far for when either mock or real cruises will start.

The cruise line says that it got over five thousand emails, tweets and other messages even before it posted its form; since t he form was posted, over ten thousand have joined the Facebook page it set up to keep people updated as the cruise lines find out what CDC actually wants them to do on the test cruises, which will likely be to the cruise lines' own private islands.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
