Sweden's Interrail business seeing a big boom

Swedish travelers are going for rail travel in a big way, boosting sales of Interrail passes by 85% over the first seven months of the year, possibly in part because of the growth of the 'flight shaming' movement that seeks to curb flying.

So far this year, 17,000 of the passes have been sold; they allow unlimited rail travel for a set number of days, either for all of Europe or a set of countries. The passes are available to Europeans only; others can buy Eurailpasses at higher prices.

The 'flygskam' movement has gotten wide publicity in Europe, especially with heavy press attention on one of its teenage proponents, Greta Thunberg, who is Swedish.

The best part of every trip is realizing that it has upset your expectations
