Super Mario set for Hollywood debut

Fans of Nintendo's games featuring characters such as Mario and Luigi will soon be able to play around in Super Nintendo World in the U.S. The first park in the U.S., and only second in the world, will open February 17 at Universal Studios Hollywood.

The original opened in Japan in March 2021, and another is planned for Universal Studios Orlando, but no opening date has been announced.

The attraction will have rides mirroring the action in some of the games, including a high-speed high-stakes Mario Kart race against Team Bowser. As in the video game, no two races come out the same; it's a different ride each time.

Also included: a shop for Mario memorabilia and a Toadstool Cafe with themed menu items such as Piranha Plant Caprese, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger and Princess Peach cupcakes.
